Timeline of DCIM activities from August 1 to 5

The Department for Combating Illegal Migration has intensified its efforts towards tackling irregular immigration into Libya. Below is timeline of its activities from August 1 to 5 as announced by Migrant Rescue Watch.

05.08.25 DCIM transferred from East Tripoli Immigration Detention Center to Deportation Dept. in Tripoli a number of undocumented #migrants of Egyptian nationality for repatriation.

05.08.25 – DCIM (Southeastern Region) in Kufra apprehended 2 Sudanese #migrants suspected of altering personal photos on health certificates and failing a required medical blood test. #migrantcrisis #DontTakeToTheSea #seenotrettung #Frontex

Further investigation revealed that an employee of a transport office had altered the personal photos on their health certificates in exchange for financial gain. The individual was arrested and the case referred to public prosecution. #migrantcrisis #Frontex

particularly with regard to center operations, deportation programs and medical services provided to illegal immigrants.

03.08.25 – DCIM repatriated from Tobruk Immigration Detention Center 99 undocumented #migrants of Egyptian nationality via Emsaed land border crossing.

03.08.25 – DCIM (Southern Region) repatriated from Sabha Immigration Detention Center 300 undocumented #migrants of Nigerien nationality via Al-Toum land border crossing.

02.08.25 – DCIM in the month of July 2025 repatriated from Tobruk Immigration Detention Center 1,931 #migrants from more than 10 different countries, including women and children.

01.08.25 – DCIM (Eastern Region) in an ongoing campaign aimed at combating begging and apprehending illegal immigrants conducted in Benghazi mobile security checks. All apprehended violators were transferred to Qanfoudah IDC in Benghazi for legal action.

01.08.25 – DCIM (Women’s Police Office) Brigadier Hoda Al-Abbar conducted an inspection visit to Benghazi Hospital to check on health condition of a #migrant female transferred from IDC for medical treatment.

01.08.25 – DCIM during mobile security road checks south of Al-Makhili area apprehended a number of undocumented #migrants of different nationalities who attempted to infiltrate Al-Qubba via desert roads. All transferred to DCIM Branch HQ for legal action.

01.08.25 – DCIM (Southern Region) conducted in Brak Al-Shatti security operations targeting sites used for illicit activities and suspected acts of sorcery. During ops a number of undocumented #migrants were apprehended and subsequently transferred to IDC for legal action.
