One dead, six missing, as fishermen rescue 87 after metal boat capsized
A body of a women has been reportedly recovered after a metal boat capsized along Sfax, Tunisia.
According to information shared by Jihed, a researcher, six people are still missing while 87 people have been rescued.
“Another massacre at sea”, Jihed wrote as he goes on to provide additional information regarding the incident.
“A metal boat departed last night from Ellouza, #SFAX Tunisia, carrying around 100 people — including 25 women and 10 children.”
According to him, the survivors are from Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Senegal, and Sudan.
He said: “#Tunisian_fishermen rescued 87 people and recovered the body of a woman. At least 6 are still missing.”
Disturbed by the ugly development, Jihed said: “This is not a tragedy it’s the result of deliberate European border violence. #FortressEurope kills daily.”
