Jeff Crisp, others show concerns about UNHCR’s plan to begin targeted food assistance in Agadez
Jeff Crisp Former Head, Policy Development & Evaluation Service, UNHCR, has shown concern about the UN agency’s plan to begin targeted food assistance in the Agadez Humanitarian Centre starting from July.
“Bad news from Niger,” Jeff wrote on his X handle, adding in bracket “(And cutting assistance doesn’t necessarily mean “promoting self-reliance)”
Reacting to Jeff’s post, Yousef Ismail @yousef_ism58349, wrote:
“The goal is not to reduce aid and enable self-reliance. The goal is to obtain additional funding and continue to violate the rights of those who have been protesting for more than eight months to demand a decent life. Why did you not ask the world to find a solution? For these P.”
Also reacting to UNHCR’s announcement, Refugees In Libya late last month said:
“Are we NOT in the month of May? @UNHCRNiger. What will happen to those who are dependent on those food ratio until then? Also @refugeesniger has been for months calling out this topic.”
