Tariq Ben Zeyad marine detachment interdicts boats with 133 migrants

Marine Detachment of Tariq Ben Zeyad Brig, Libya, has interdicted boats carrying 133 migrants.

This was carried out in three  different operations, according to information provided by Migrant Rescue Watch.

The information reads: “Marine Detachment of Tariq Ben Zeyad Brig. interdicted a boat off the coast of Tobruk with 43 #migrants of Bangladeshi and Sudanese nationalities. The group attempted to reach Greece illegally.”

Migrant Rescue Watch also noted that “Marine Detachment of Tariq Ben Zeyad Brig. interdicted a rubber boat with 40 #migrants including  women and children of Sudanese nationality. The group attempted to reach Greece illegally. SRC: Al Abireen Foundation.”

On the 14 of May Migrant Rescue Watch said  “Marine Detachment of Tariq Ben Zeyad Brig. interdicted off the coast of Bomba a boat with 50 #migrants of African and Arab nationalities. The group attempted to reach Greece illegally.”

Also on May 12, Migrant Rescue Watch said “Maritime Rescue Unit recovered 1 unidentified body of #migrant washed ashore in Zliten area. The body was transferred to medical authorities for completion of procedures.”
