DCIM raids, arrests migrants of different nationalities

The Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM) Libya, has between 13th  and   19th of May 2025 raided different locations and arrested immigrants of different nationalities.

This is according to updates provided by Migrant Rescue Watch on the activities of the  DCIM.

Below is the timeline of the DCIM activities.

DCIM transferred from Sirte Immigration Detention Center to Qanfoudah IDC in Benghazi 105 #migrants of different nationalities for repatriation. The group incl. 3 medical cases.

17.05.25 – DCIM jointly with 20/20 Bn carried out security checks on Corniche Promenade in Benghazi aimed at increasing public safety. During checks a number of #migrants were apprehended without proper identification.

All transferred Qanfoudah IDC for completion of legal procedures.

15.05.25 – DCIM conducted mobile security patrols in Greater Benghazi targeting #migrants and foreign workers for purpose of verifying immigration status. All violators were referred to Qanfoudah IDC for legal action.

15.05.25 – DCIM transferred from Al-Marj Immigration Detention Center to Qanfoudah IDC in Benghazi 24 #migrants incl. 4 women and 1 child of different nationalities for repatriation. The group incl. also medical cases.

14.05.25 – DCIM (Central Region) continues to implement security plan in Sirte and its suburbs. The measures are aimed at enforcing immigration laws by targeting commercial service activities and residences unlawfully rented to #migrants and or foreign workers.

14.05.25 – DCIM transferred from Derna Immigration Detention Center to Qanfoudah IDC in Benghazi 11 #migrants of Egyptian nationality for repatriation.

13.05.25 – DCIM (Southern Region) continues security operations targeting locations used by #migrants as illegal dwellings as well as sites of unlawful activity.

13.05.25 – DCIM Desert Patrols Dept. during mobile security checks apprehended 36 undocumented #migrants of different nationalities. All transferred to DCIM Jabal Al-Akhdar Branch in Shahat for legal action.

13.05.25 – DCIM (Central Region) continues security ops in Sirte targeting accommodations unlawfully rented to #migrants as well as labour market for purpose of controlling legal residency status and validity of health certificates.
