Police arrest migrants housed by human smugglers

The Police in Libya have arrested migrants including women and children in various raids.

In one of the operations, Migrant Rescue Watch said the Police in Sabratha carried out raid on rental apartments and apprehended a group of #migrants including women and children of mainly Syrian nationality. “The group was housed by smugglers in preparation of boat crossing. All transferred to Sabratha Security Directorate for legal action and referral to DCIM.”

Providing an update on the arrests of migrants, Migrant Rescue Watch said Sabratha Security Directorate transferred 30 #migrants of different nationalities to DCIM custody in Tripoli. “The individuals were apprehended during raids on hotels in Sabratha where they were housed by smugglers in preparation of boat crossing.”

It added that thePolice in an effort to combat illegal immigration carried out consecutive inspection of a hotel in Sabratha and apprehended a group of Arab #migrants who were readying for boat crossing. All transferred to Sabratha Security Directorate for legal action.
