Migrants readying for boat crossing, human smugglers arrested

Migrants readying for boat crossing and  human smugglers have been arrested in different operations by Libyan security operatives.

According to Migrant Rescue Watch, “General Dept. of Security Operations carried out raid on human smugglers’ site east of Misrata and apprehended 40 #migrants of different nationalities readying for boat crossing. All transferred to GDSO HQ pending DCIM notification.

“CID patrols apprehended in Emsaed area a group of 21 Egyptian #migrants who entered Libya illegally. The group following completion of legal procedures was deported via border crossing.”

It also said the Libyan Coast Security PV “Wadi Kaam” (P-300) “rescued 109 #migrants including  women & children of different nationalities. All disembarked in Tripoli and upon provision of humanitarian assistance were transferred to DCIM custody.

“Joint Security Forces including Military Police commenced a major security campaign in Tobruk targeting sites used by drug dealers and human smugglers as well as areas frequented by foreign workers.”
