Robert A. a 31-year-old from Chemnitz, is facing deportation to Serbia next Tuesday, Seebrücke International says.

Seebrücke International is a german organization that wants safe passages and an end of the criminalisation of civil sea rescue.

According  to the organization, Robert  is currently being held in custody pending deportation in Dresden after being called to the immigration office in Chemnitz yesterday and taken into custody by the police.

“Robert A. is not a Serbian citizen, has never been to Serbia and does not speak Serbian. He came to Germany when he was 8 months old. Today he is 31 years old. He went to school in Germany and completed an apprenticeship.

“He was not allowed to work in Germany due to his uncertain residence status. Robert has made several requests to obtain a work permit, all of which have been rejected by the immigration authorities.”

Seebrücke International demanded that Robert A. be released from detention pending deportation immediately and that his deportation be stopped.

“There will also be a manifestation at the deportation prison in Dresden on Monday at 5pm.
