11 undocumented migrants transferred to DCIM custody in Tripoli

The Libyan authorities have transferred
11 undocumented migrants to the Department for Combating Illegal Migration, DCIM, custody in Tripoli.

Migrant Rescue Watch disclosed this while providing information on issues affecting migrants in Libya.

It said: “Sabratha Security Directorate transferred 11 undocumented #migrants including 4 women of different nationalities to DCIM custody in Tripoli.”

According to Migrant Rescue Watch the individuals were apprehended during police security checks in Sabratha.

Migrant Rescue Watch also shared information about how the CID in Benghazi arrested 3 Bangladeshi gang members that were involved in kidnappings for ransom of Bangladeshi nationals. “The gang demanded from relatives 35,000 LYD (ca. 7,300 USD) for release of each person. During police op all detained victims were released.”

In another disheartening development, Migrant Rescue Watch said the Libyan Red Crescent (Sabratha Branch) in response to police report recovered an unidentified body of #migrant washed ashore in Sabratha. “The body was transferred to hospital for completion of procedures.”
