Blue Dragon rescues 10 trafficking victims in seven days
Blue Dragon, a Non Governmental Organisation that’s on a mission to end human trafficking has rescued 10 trafficking victims in different rescues operations carried out in seven days.
The rescued victims age ranged between 12 and 30 years.
The rescue operations were carried out between May 5 and 11. The rescued victims comprised males and females.
The rescue and dates of operations shared by the organisation are as stated below.
May 10, In 2 separate rescue operations today, Blue Dragon rescued 5 people from slavery in forced online scamming compounds. From Myanmar we rescued 3 men and 1 woman; and from Cambodia, 1 man. Aged 22 to 30, all are safely back in Vietnam and will soon be reunited with their families.
May 9: Blue Dragon has just rescued a man and woman, aged 25 and 27, from forced online scamming in Myanmar. They were in slavery for seven months. Both have arrived in Vietnam and are in our safe care.
May 8: In two separate operations, Blue Dragon has rescued two people from slavery in Laos: a 32yr-old woman trafficked to a brothel and a 28yr-old man trafficked for forced online scamming. Both have given statements to police and are receiving counselling and support.
May 5: 12-year-old girl rescued: Blue Dragon has rescued a girl trafficked from Vietnam to Cambodia, where she was sold into a scam compound one month ago. She has already been reunited with her mother and is now giving a statement to the police.
