Friends organise fundraising events to support Blue Dragon

Friends across the globe over the weekend organised events to raise funds in support of Blue Dragon’s work.

Blue Dragon is an international NGO with the mission to end human trafficking.

Speaking on the fundraising events, the NGO said: “This weekend, friends around the world have been organising great fundraising events to support Blue Dragon. In Sydney, Australia, a fun trivia night. In Wellington, New Zealand, a major book fair.”

Events like these, according to the organization are important for two reasons:
“First, the funds raised are critical contributions to Blue Dragon’s work of rescuing people from slavery, preventing human trafficking, and assisting people as they heal from trauma. Without this support, we could do nothing!

“And second, events like these build community.
They bring together people who share common passions, values & a vision of what our world could be. Done well, fundraising is about much more than raising money; it gives purpose & offers a way for people to contribute to causes that matter.
Best of all: Anyone can fundraise.”

It added that students can organise bake sales and games, adding that workplaces can invite guest speakers or run campaigns to raise money for specific projects.
“The Blue Dragon website provides a platform to set up a fundraiser and ask your friends to donate. Give it a try!,” It said.
