Japan gifts SriLanka $8.4m through IOM SriLanka

The government of japan, a longstanding development partner to the people of #SL, has provided a grant of USD 8.4 million through @IOMSriLanka to strengthen PoE facilities in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, IOM Sri Lanka said on its X handle.

The grant, it said aims to strengthen capacities at @BIA_SriLanka and the Colombo Port – vital gateways to Sri Lanka, “to be future-ready for responding to any public health emergencies such as pandemics and infectious diseases. The handing over ceremony took place today at BIA with the presence of H.E. Mizukoshi Hideaki @JapanEmb_SL , Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation, Hon. Nimal Siripala De Silva, Chief of Mission @Saratdashiom and other key stakeholders.”
