DCIM arrests 37 migrants, releases 250 others
The Department for Combating Illegal Migration, DCIM, in Libya, in February arrested a total 37 migrants.
A total of 250 migrants have also been released on humanitarian grounds by the DCIM according to a post by Migrant Rescue Watch.
The post reads: “DCIM Bureau of Investigation (Eastern Region) during the month of February 2024 apprehended a total of 37 #migrants. The cases incl. judiciary warrants, illegal entry, medical, passport forgery and drug abuse.”
Continuing, the post said: “DCIM (Western Region) following National Council for Liberties and Human Rights recommendations released on humanitarian grounds 250 #migrants of different nationalities belonging to vulnerable groups (women, children, sick, elderly & disabled). #migrantcrisis”
