A boy sold at four years old has been rescued five years after.

The boy Destiny Amos, was said to have been taken away at age three under the guise of the opportunity of a better future.

This was disclosed by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking of Persons, NAPTIP who facilitated Destiny’s rescue.

A statement by the agency said: “On February 14, 2024, a 9-year-old boy, Destiny Amos, also known as Akachukwu was reunited with his family at the NAPTIP Headquarters. In 2016, Destiny was deceitfully taken from his family when he was just 3 years old under the guise of the opportunity of a better future.

“At the age of 4 Destiny was sold under the façade of fostering. The little boy was rescued in Anambra state.
Destiny is the 43rd child that has been rescued by NAPTIP out of 151 children involved in a shocking case of buying and selling of human beings that is currently being prosecuted in Court.”

The agency said this is a reminder to all parents to be discerning when giving out their children to strangers masquerading as “helpers”. “Remember! If it is free, you are definitely the product.
