British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has restated his vow to stop small boats from bringing undocumented people into the country.

The PM disclosed this in a series of tweet yesterday.

The tweets read:

I said I would stop the boats. I meant it.

We’ve signed a treaty with Rwanda making it clear that it’s us who decides who comes to this country – not criminal gangs.

Small boat crossings are down by a third this year.

Criminal gangs have tried to stop us.

Here’s how we’re going to beat them.

❌In 2022, almost 30% of people arriving in small boats were from Albania

➡️Our deal with Albania made it easier to deport and deter illegal migrants

✅Now, Albanian small boat crossings are down by 90%

❌In 2022, the number of people crossing the Channel on small boats exceeded 45,700

➡️We agreed a landmark deal with France to intercept more boats and prevent illegal crossings

✅French interception rates of small boats have increased year on year

❌Criminal gangs used black market jobs to encourage people to come to the UK illegally

➡️We increased our resources for immigration enforcement, including adding more new staff

✅Our illegal working raids increased by almost 70%, preventing vulnerable people from exploitation

We’ve made progress but there’s more work to do.

I will stop at nothing to fix this problem.
