Libya repatriates seven Sudanese migrants on medical grounds

The Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM) in Libya has repatriated seven Sudanese migrants on medical grounds.

The DCIM, according to Migrant Rescue Watch transferred from “Tobruk Immigration Detention Center to Qanfoudah IDC in Benghazi 7 migrants of Sudanese nationality for repatriation. All medical cases.”

Migrant Rescue Watch also noted that the CID in Benghazi “arrested 2 Bangladeshi #migrants responsible for kidnappings and extortion of co-nationals. During operation police also freed 15 Bangladeshi #migrants held captive for ransom.

“The accused were demanding 20,000 LYD (ca. 4,160 USD) for release of each person. #migrantcrisis #DontTakeToTheSea #seenotrettung #Frontex”
