AlarmPhone, Sea Watch Int’l condemn migrants’ expulsion into desert
Two international organizations involved in rescue operations on international waters, AlarmPhone and Sea Watch International, have condemned the expulsion of migrants intercepted by Tunisian Coast guards into the desert.
AlarmPhone announcer the ugly development when it said: “Expulsed into the desert! A group of people called us & reported they were intercepted by the #Tunisia|n CoastGuard, taken to the Tunisian-Algerian border and left in the desert without food and water!
“Tunisian authorities continue these outrageous practices with the EU support.”
Reacting to the message, Sea Watch International said: “This is what border control looks like in the country that the EU promised hundreds of millions in the migration agreement. Human rights activists are no longer allowed into Tunisia, and the Tunisian coastguard is deporting people to die in the desert.”
