Libyan Coast Guard foils human smuggling operation
A human smuggling operation has been foiled by Libyan Coast Guard.
Forty five migrants were inside the boat intercepted by the guard coast, Migrant Rescue Watch said.
Providing details of the operation, Migrant Rescue Watch said: “Libyan Coast Guard ship “Houn” thwarted a pre-arranged human smuggling operation and interdicted northeast of Al-Khums a boat with 45 #migrants of different nationalities. All disembarked in Al-Khums and were handed over to DCIM.
“The group of #migrants called in advance NGOs and provided day and location of departure in an attempt to be picked-up by #MSF NGO vessel #GeoBarents. The arranged pick-up was foiled by the Coast Guard.”
