Security arrests tourist boat with French, Philipino nationals off Zuwara coast

A French and Philipino nationals have been arrested by Coast Security Support Company in Libya.

They were arrested on a tourist boat off the coast of Zuwara, according to a post by Migrant Rescue Watch.

The post said: “Coast Security Support Company arrested a tourist boat off the coast of Zuwara with 2 passengers on board, a male (French national) and a female (Filipino national). The boat with passengers was transferred to Zuwara.

“During preliminary investigation and inspection of the boat all electronic equipment was seized and the passengers were subsequently transferred to Libyan Intelligence Service in Tripoli. No further details of the incident are available.”

In another development, Migrant Rescue Watch said: “GA Special Task Force apprehended in Ras Ajdir a Tunisian national who attempted to cross the border from Libya to Tunisia illegally. The individual claimed that he is employed by a company that maintains the border crossing facility.The case was referred to DCIM in Al-Assah for legal action.”

It added that: “Police patrols seized in Jardinah area a vehicle and arrested the Libyan driver for an attempted human smuggling of 3 undocumented #migrants of Egyptian nationality. All transferred to Jardinah Police Dept. for legal action.”
