Nigeria Immigration launches Validated National Migration Policy 2025
Yobe State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service, has joined other commands and other stakeholders to launch the nationwide sensitisation on the Validated National Migration Policy 2025, themed “Enhancing Awareness for Effective Migration Management and Border Governance.”
The new policy updates the 2015 framework, addressing existing gaps and introducing improvements on evidence-based decision-making and global best practices.
Key focus areas include strengthening institutional coordination, improving migrant protection, promoting safe and regular migration pathways, supporting sustainable reintegration, ensuring inclusivity, and addressing climate-induced mobility.
A statement by the Command’s PRO MA Yerima indicates that the sensitisation programme, as directed by the Comptroller General Kemi Nanna Nandap who was represented by Deputy Comptroller of Immigration Aminu Abubakar aims to enhance awareness among stakeholders and ensure effective implementation of the policy across the country.
The Nigeria Immigration Service reaffirms its commitment to efficient migration management, border security, and national development.
