Libyan Coast Guard rescues 45 Sudanese, 45 others of different nationalities
Libyan Coast Guard, has rescued 45 Sudanese comprising women and children. The guards in another rescue operations saved 45 people of different nationalities.
Information by Migrant Rescue Watch revealed that the Libyan Coast Guard (Gen.Cmd.) on a Search And Rescue operation on February 05, 2026 rescued 45 #migrants including women and children of different nationalities. “All disembarked in Tobruk Naval Base where they received humanitarian and medical assistance provided by LRC.
In another SAR operation, it said the “Libyan Coast Guard (Gen.Cmd.) rescued north of Tobruk (30 nm) 45 #migrants incl. 2 women and 3 children of Sudanese nationality. All disembarked in Tobruk Naval Base where they were provided with medical and humanitarian assistance by Libyan Red Crescent.
On February 3, 2026, Migrant Rescue Watch said the Joint Security Forces (Police, GDSO & DCIM) launched a large-scale operation in Sabha targeting illegal immigration sites in the city. “So far, the operation resulted in apprehension of over 2,000 undocumented. The operation is part of a comprehensive security plan aimed at establishing security within the city, protecting public health and environment, reducing manifestations of chaos and exploitation and restoring order to neighborhoods affected by illegal gatherings.
