Tunisian police scaled up its brutality of refugees as it recently unleashed terror on their camps in the olive groves of Sfax.

Refugees In Libya denounced the violation of the refugees’ rights. In a statement titled ‘CRITICAL’  the gave a brief account of the attack on the refugees’ camp thus : “This afternoon, we received alarming reports, supported by video evidence, that the Tunisian police destroyed camps in the olive groves of Sfax at KM36. Hundreds of tents were destroyed and set ablaze, and some resources were stolen by the police. Blankets, food, phones, water, plastic sheets, and medical equipment were scattered and burned. This constitutes a grave human rights violation that Tunisia has been repeatedly committing, at least since early 2023 on a mass scale.”

Refugees In Libya called on the Tunisian government to stop harassing refugees and, first and foremost, to acknowledge that people are camping in the olive groves because Tunisia refuses them legal residency, thereby robbing them of their right to accommodation.

Making reference to a video in its post, Refugees In Libya  said “that burning structure was a tent that sheltered a mother, her daughter, and her husband, who have been forced to live in the olive groves of Sfax since early 2023. The National Guard—now a Tunisian criminal entity funded by Europe—arrived and set it on fire without any remorse.Europe’s best approach to curbing the so-called “migration crisis.”
