EU, Italy fund Agadez centre, aware of arbitrary arrests- Refugees In Niger

Refugees In Niger has accused the EU and Italian government of being the brain behind the challenges bedeviling the inmates at Agadez Centre.

The body regretted that the UN refugee agency, UNHCR is unfazed even by the refugees’peaceful protests.

“#EU and Italy fund #Agadez center.  They know about arbitrary arrests. Suspended aid preventable deaths. Complicity through silence Blood money through migration policy.

“The forgotten @Refugees in the middle of the desert continue their peaceful protest every day in front of the @UNHCRNiger

 office in the center despite all the ongoing violations of their rights and the challenges.”

In other posts, Refugees In Niger said: “The forgotten refugees in the middle Sahrawis organize a peaceful protest in front of the UNHCR office in the center; the protest enters its 428 days is still  Their suffering continues to this day.

“In what is called the #Agadez Humanitarian Center the @Refugees have been there for more than a year‼️ since the start of the peaceful protest in September 2024 and so far the #UNHCR is only watching.”

Refugees in Niger expressed worries that the “UNHCR has yet to respond to the demands of refugees in #Agadez. @UNHCRNigeris punishing refugees with hunger and the severance of all services due to a peaceful protest that has lasted more than a year.”
