Man narrates why Canada banned him for five years

A man on Quora has narrated why he was banned from entering Canada for five years.

I’m banned for 5 years to Canada due to mispresentation. Are there any chances to remove the ban?

I entered Canada back in 1992 with part of a box of .22 caliber bullets in the car. The boarder patrol conducted a random search then found these bullets. They systematically disassembled every aspect of the interior and engine possible in 30 minutes. While this was happening, I was questioned no less than a dozen times about a handgun and where I had hidden it.

I didn’t have any weapons, not even a knife. when the border agents were done it was basically, “you’re free to go, have a nice day, oh, and sorry about the car.” They did a lot of disassembly yet not one part had been reassembled. I had to borrow tools to get the car back together.

Even though I was granted access at that time, I was denied entrance many times over the following years. Last year (2022) I was finally admitted to Canada for a camping/backpacking trip. Once again, I was detained for half an hour. During the questioning I was specifically asked if I had a handgun (3 times!). Thank God they didn’t disassemble our car this time!

Canadian boarder agents and their computers never forget any details, guilty or not.
