Ten people on their way to Spain intercepted by Algerian Navy
Ten people heading to Spain have been intercepted by the Algerian Navy.
This is according to information provided by Alarm Phone on its X handle.
The post reads: “SOS from 10 people in distress on their way to #Spain!
Relatives told us that the boat left from #Algiers three days ago. We have not managed to establish direct contact with the people. Responsible authorities are informed and we demand a search & rescue mission now!”
Shortly after the above post Alarm Phone made another post in which it said: “We just received a confirmation from relatives that the people on this boat were intercepted by the #Algerian Navy. We don’t know what will happen to them now. People with Algerian nationality face up to 6 months imprisonment for trying to leave. #freedomofmovement.”
