Two dead, many missing after shipwreck
A shipwreck off Libya coast has claimed two lives.
The incident according to Seebrüecke International occured on Saturday.
It said ” a boat with around 30 people on board was shipwrecked off the Libyan coast. At least two people have died and several are missing. Just last week, Emergency Life Support rescued 49 people from distress at sea.”
After a break in the shipyard, Seebrüecke International said”the Sea-Watch 5 is now back on its way to the central Mediterranean. It is urgently needed there. Since the beginning of the year, at least 1,724 people have died or are missing in the Mediterranean.”
To end the deaths in the Mediterranean, Seebrüecke International said “we don’t need higher walls and more barbed wire, but safe passage and freedom of movement for all people!”
