DCIM raids human smugglers’ den, arrests Sub-Saharan Africans

The Department for Combating Illegal Migration DCIM, in Libya , has arrested an unspecified number of sub-Saharan Africans.

According to information provided by Migrant Rescue Watch “DCIM following a comprehensive investigation carried out raid on human smugglers’ den in Qarabolli area and apprehended a group of undocumented #migrants of different sub-Saharan nationalities.

“The group was readying for boat crossing. All transferred to East Tripoli Immigration Detention Center. During op 2 human smugglers were also arrested and will be referred to public prosecution for legal action.”

Migrant Rescue Watch in another statement said “Joint Security Forces (police and military) carried out a major raid on a location used by smugglers in Emsaed area. During operation large quantities of contraband medicine, illicit drugs, weapons with ammunition and cigarettes were seized.

“Also a number of undocumented #migrants of different nationalities were apprehended.”
