Resqship, a German NGO that’s operating monitoring missions in the central Mediterranean, has narrated how a boat started sinking after Nadir crew evacuated the 45 people in it.

It said “Another intense night in the Med with 2 rescues: 6 hours after @alarm_phone had alerted about a boat in distress, the Nadir crew was able to find the 45 ppl in the dark because of their light signals. A few minutes after having evacuated everybody the boat started sinking.”

While the first boat was sinking, Resqship said a second boat with 25 people aboard appeared in the dark. “They were then also taken safely aboard, where they were cared for and received medical treatment. Together with the now 70 people the Nadir set sail towards Lampedusa.”

Earlier on, September 26 to be precise, Resqship had narrated how Nadir  rescued 25 people. “Last night #Nadir found 25 people in distress. Their engine wasn’t running anymore and the rubber boat was partly deflated. To secure the situation everybody was taken on board. After spending two days on the water, departing from Zuwara, they are now on the way to #Lampedusa.

“All 25 people were able to go on land in Lampedusa today. Thanks to the excellent work of

@alarm_phone.  the #Nadir crew was able to find them in the dark, after they had already spent 48 hours at sea in a flimsy rubber boat. We wish them all the best for their future.”
