A researcher who goes by the name Jihed on X formerly Twitter, has explained possible reasons why a former Zawiya Coast Guard Commander Abd al-Rahman Milad, nicknamed “Al Bidja was assassinated.

Rumours about Al’Bidja’s death filtered in early yesterday (Sunday, September 1 2024) but was eventually late evening.

Al Bidja, according to Jihed, was heading to the Naval Academy in an unarmored Toyota when he was ambushed by two cars with five armed men.
“They stopped him, lined him up, and fatally shot him in the head,” Jihed wrote.

He opined that Al_Bidja’s assassination seems politically driven. “He was cooperating with Europe, which appears to be changing her complices and gave the green light to Dbeyba, who opposed AlBeja’s support for the Central Bank president.

“Sources suggest tensions between Al Bidja and Dbeyba might have led to the fatal attack.
With Europe possibly seeking new partners, this could be a significant turning point in regional power dynamics.”

Now, Jihed further said : “there are fears this could lead to further escalation, as several armed groups have closed entries to #AlZawiya. Let’s hope this situation does not spiral out of control. Our thoughts are with the civilians in AlZawiya. We hope they remain safe amidst the rising tensions.”
