World Day Against TIP: NAPTIP hosts Town Hall Dialogue with community stakeholders

As people across the globe mark the 2024 World Day Against Trafficking In Persons, Nigeria’s anti- human trafficking agency, NAPTIP, on Monday July 29, hosted a Town Hall Dialogue with community stakeholders across the country.

NAPTIP described the engagement as “impactful and engaging dialogue’.

A statement by agency on the meeting reads: “On Monday, July 29, 2024, NAPTIP hosted a vibrant Town Hall Dialogue with community stakeholders from across the country and the FCT. The event brought together stakeholders from State Task Forces on Human Trafficking, CSOs, religious
structures, community leaders, person with disabilities, diplomatic community, law enforcement agencies and relevant MDAs.

“Collaborating with @UNODC_Nigeria , @ICMPD , @IOM_Nigeria , and @ohchr_nigeria this dialogue was a key part of activities in commemoration of the
2024 World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. In person and online participants, engaged in real-time questions and answers with the DG NAPTIP, Prof. Fatima Waziri-Azi, PhD, who eloquently addressed all questions and concerns posed.

“The event had present
a victim of human trafficking who shared her heart breaking experience of being trafficked to Libya. The day ended with a vibrant cultural display by State Task Force members from across Nigeria.”
