Seventeen people in urgent need of assistance near Lavara
Seventeen people are in need of urgent help near Lavara, Alarm Phone has said in a notification about development on the sea.
Alarm Phone provides independent support for people crossing the Mediterranean Sea to the EU.
The notification reads: “🆘️ from 17 people in urgent need of assistance near #Lavara, on the #Greek side of the #Evros river.
They report that they have been stuck in the area without any response to their calls for help from the authorities for 10 days.
“They ran out of food & are now forced to drink water from the river. The group is afraid of a pushback & cannot keep going without food or water! We alerted the authorities to this case & urge them to finally take action! Provide food & water & the urgently needed assistance!”
