Twenty one people have been rescued after a shipwreck by Nadir crew.

Resqship disclosed this in an update of its rescue operation titled ’21 people survived shipwreck’.

It said: “Last night a boat with 21 people sunk, after they had alerted @alarm_phone. The #Nadir crew found the 21 survivors in the water despite it being dark, because one shipwrecked person managed to hold up a light.

“Almost everyone had jelly fish stings and fuel burns among other injuries. People received medical attention onboard #Nadir, when another distress case was alerted about. In accordance with authorities the #Nadir stabilised the second boat and distributed life vests to 60 people.”

Soon, Resqship said the Italian coast guard arrived to embark the 60 people and some 6 urgent medical cases from #Nadir. “The crew is now underway to the port of Lampedusa with the remaining survivors of last nights distress case – thanks to collective efforts of the #civilFleeet!”
