Thirteen human traffickers arrested, DCIM commences implementing security plan to combat irregular immigration
Thirteen human traffickers have been reportedly arrested as the Department for Combating Illegal Migration, DCIM, had commenced implementing security plan to combat irregular immigration in Wadi Al-Shatti region.
According to Migrant Rescue Watch: “Attorney General Office announced the arrest of 13 human traffickers and issued 76 warrants for suspected criminal accomplices involved in deprivation of freedom and torture of #migrants for financial gain.
“The investigation was launched following raids and release of 167 #migrants in Kufra and Tazerbo.”
Migrant Rescue Watch also said that the DCIM Southern Region under command of Col. Abdul Rahman Al-Ansari commenced implementing security plan to combat the phenomenon of illegal immigration and organized crime in Wadi Al-Shatti region.
“The DCIM operations will be subsequently extended to other cities of southern region in full implementation of the objectives set in the security plan.”
