‘UK targeting women for forced removal to Rwanda’
Women for Refugee Women an organization that supports women seeking safety in the UK rebuild their lives on their own terms, has alleged that women are being targeted for forced removal to Rwanda by
the United Kingdom authorities.
The organisation alleged that around 8 women have received ‘Notices of Intent’ (NOI) and have been detained at Yarl’s Wood.
“They have already survived traumatic experiences and were trying to rebuild their lives in the UK,”it said .
The @ukhomeoffice’s own research into Rwanda’s human rights records, Women for Refugee Women said, cites that refugee women and girls are at a disproportionate risk of gender-based violence and trafficking.
“Yet, they’re targeting women with forced deportation to Rwanda – to risks of further harm.”
Undaunted by the unpleasant development, the organisation said: “We’ll continue to support women with NOI and who are locked up in detention.
“The cruel Rwanda plan must be scrapped, to prevent people seeking safety from risk of further harm, exploitation or abuse.
“Women seeking safety in the UK should be supported to heal and thrive.”
