Sixty five migrants apprehended in Bir Al Ashhab, Zuwara

Sixty five undocumented migrants have been apprehended by Libyan authorities in Bir Al Ashhab and Zuwara.

They were arrested in two different raids according to a statement by Migrant Rescue Watch.

The statement reads: “CID jointly with GA Central Support (Al-Batnan Detachment) raided south of Bir Al Ashhab smuggler’s site and apprehended 20 undocumented #migrants of Egyptian nationality. All transferred to CID for completion of legal procedures.

“Western Region Support Forces conducted raid on smuggler’s ‘safe house’ in Zuwara and apprehended ca.45 #migrants including 2 women of different nationalities. The group was readying for boat crossing.

“All transferred to WRSF Directorate HQ in Zuwara pending DCIM notification.”
