Seventy three lives in danger along Cyprus
The lives of 73 migrants including children on their way to Cyprus are currently at risk.
According to AlarmPhone, the people were threatened with gun by Cyprus Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) to go back to Syria.
AlarmPhone in a statement seeking help for the migrants said: ” 🆘 from 2 boats in a convoy on their way to #Cyprus. In total there are 73 people, including many children.
“They report that they have been at sea for 4 days & some people are sick. They have no food & water left. There is no fuel left & they cannot continue their journey.
“@CyprusJRCC seem not to bother about the urgency of the situation & refuse to share with us, if they will start a SAR operation or not.”
One group, AlarmPhone said “called us, saying that they were approached by a ship of the police. According to them, they were threatened with guns and & told to go back to #Syria. After that they were left alone at sea.
We asked @CyprusJRCC about this, they say it’s not their responsibility.”
