Sea Watch International has described the Common European Asylum System as an idea that institutionalizes human rights violations.

Sea Watch International said this while calling on the European Parliament to stop the CEAS.

It said: “@Europarl_EN must stop the Common European Asylum Reform (#CEAS) in the Plenary vote this week. The deal institutionalizes human rights violations and is the end of the individual right to asylum in Europe. It is a bowing to the demands of the fascists.

“At all stages, the pact relies on the de facto detention of people seeking safety, regardless of their age. People will be held at external borders and subject to border procedures in detention conditions.
Against their #CEAS – for human rights.”
