Nienburg police killed Lamin like forest animal- Girlfriend
Girlfriend of 46-year-old Lamin Touray, shot dead by police in Nienburg on Saturday, said he was killed like an animal in the forest.
Seebrücke International in a statement said the police in Nienburg killed Touray with 8 shots.
According to an investigation by taz, the man’s girlfriend and a friend called the emergency services because they were worried that their friend was a danger to himself due to mental distress.
The police then turned up instead of the medical help they had hoped for.
According to the eyewitnesses, the false account that the man had threatened them with a knife was largely spread uncritically by the press.
According to their statements to taz, he only pulled out the knife when the police arrived. Touray’s girlfriend describes the course of the operation as follows: “Instead of helping, they shot him like an animal in the forest”.
The 14 officers involved are now being investigated for manslaughter and causing grievous bodily harm. The police and public prosecutor’s office in Verden are responsible for this.
