CID frees abducted Nigerien migrants
The CID in Libya has set free three kidnapped migrants of Nigerien nationality.
According to a release by Migrant Rescue Watch, “CID in response to kidnapping report of 3 #migrant workers of Nigerien nationality arrested in Brak 1 perpetrator (‘M.F.A.’ Libyan national) and freed all victims.
“The #migrant workers were kidnapped for ransom by a group of criminals who demanded 15,000 LYD (ca. 3,125 USD) for release of each person.”
During ransom handover, Migrant Rescue Watch said “CID was able to arrest 1 of the perpetrators and establish identity of others. All victims upon release were transferred to Brak General Hospital for medical care due to physical abuse suffered at the hands of kidnappers. #migrantcrisis”
