A former UNHCR Head, Policy Development and Evaluation Service, Jeff Crisp, has raised questions about the terms of reference of UN migration agency, the International Organization for Migration, IOM.

Jeff raised the question following a call by IOM Libya for interested followers on its X handle to join its groundbreaking session discussing “Opportunities for Private Sector Engagement in Libya.

The invitation reads:
Join us today for a groundbreaking session discussing “Opportunities for Private Sector Engagement in Libya”! 🇱🇾 Our Online Study Launch will explore avenues for collaboration and growth. Don’t miss out!”

Reacting to the post, Jeff wondered: “What exactly are IOM’s terms of reference?
They seem to be involved in such a wide range of activities, some of which appear to have little direct relevance to the issue of migration.”
