Italian police arrests Egyptian human smuggler

An Egyptian national suspected to be a human smuggler has been arrested by the Police in Italy.

Information obtained from a post by Migrant Rescue Watch said: “Police in Italy following a 10-month-long investigation with eyewitness support arrested an Egyptian national accused of being human smuggler and a boat driver. The individual disembarked in Ancona from #GeoBarents after fictive “rescue” off the coast of Libya.

“The accused is being charged with aiding and abetting illegal immigration and aggravated endangerment of persons transported on board a vessel without necessary safety equipment, completely inadequate in relation to the number of people transported. #Europol #Frontex.”
