Seebrüecke International has called on the members of the German Bundestag not to approve the criminalization of humanitarian aid.

Seebrüecke International made the call yesterday, while handing over more than 135,000 signatures to the Bundestag.

Over 135,000 people are calling on members of the Bundestag to stop the criminalization of humanitarian aid.

“Section 96 of the Residence Act will now be discussed in the Bundestag on Thursday,” Seebrüecke said.

“With the planned changes to the law, Germany would be joining a repressive policy that can be observed throughout Europe,”it added.

“The restriction of civil society’s scope for action is a dangerous trend that must be stopped. We call on the members of the German Bundestag not to approve the criminalization of humanitarian aid! You too can write to your MP of choice and urge them to vote against the law.

“Use the @lnob2020 tool to do so! Humanitarian aid must not be criminalized and obstructed in and by Germany!”
