79 migrants rescued off Mellitah, 45 others apprehended

Seventy nine  migrants have been rescued off the coast of Mellitah with 45 undocumented migrants apprehended off Zuwara, Libya.

Migrant Rescue Watch who reported the developments said: “Petroleum Facilities Guard rescued off the coast of Mellitah 79 #migrants including  women of mainly sub-Saharan nationalities. The group was stranded on the boat and adrift 2 days.

“All rescued upon provision of medical and humanitarian assistance at the Sabratha Security Directorate were transferred to DCIM custody in Tripoli.
“Western Region Support Force carried out raid on human smuggler’s den in Zuwara area and apprehended 45 undocumented #migrants including  7 women and 8 children of different nationalities readying for boat crossing.All #migrants were transferred to WRSF HQ in Zuwara pending DCIM notification. #migrantcrisis #DontTakeToTheSea #Frontex.
