EU buries the individual right to Asylum in Asylum Reform, Louise Michel an organization that combines sea rescue with the principles of feminism, anti racism, and anti-facism has said.

Today, the organisation said, the EU has agreed on heavy changes in the Common European Asylum System (CEAS). “The new changes are the most extreme ever made and will have devastating consequences for people seeking protection in Europe.

“Changes include prison-like camps along the EU border and fast asylum processes for people from countries with lower approval rates, that allow direct deportations.

“This essentially buries the individual right to asylum, where the individual checks and possibility for legal appeal is an essential part.”

Louise Michel further said that the EU and its governments have once again shown that chasing the right-wing, anti-migration agendas is more important to them than universal human rights.

“The continued attempts to criminalise migration is not the answer, history has shown that policies like this will only lead to more dangerous migration routes and more people dying on the move.Migration is not a Crime! Stop CEAS! Fight Fortress Europe!
