Refugees In Libya,Japanese envoy meet
Spokesperson of Refugees In Libya and Japanese Permanent mission to the United Nations have met in New York.
Part of their deliberations was the violation of human rights in Libya.
The organisation in a statement said: “Today, our spokesperson @Yambiodavid met with the Japanese 🇯🇵 permanent mission to the United Nations in New York. During the meeting, they discussed with the Japanese sanctions committee on Libya and together with lawyers for Justice in Libya, they stressed the continued human rights violations being committed in Libya and as well as the rights of migrants and refugees being undermined.”
They stressed the importance for a renewed sanctions on individuals accused of crimes against humanity and who are now enjoying a total impunity for their promotion to government institutions.
They also stressed the need to investigate the European government’s involvement in pushbacks and the funding of the Libyan coast guards including the provision of technical support which are used to murder and enslave migrants and refugees.
