360 Chadian, Sudanese migrants for repatriation

Three hundred and sixty migrants of Chadian and Sudanese nationalities may be repatriated any time soon from Libya.

The migrants have been transferred to Kufra Immigration Detention and Deportation Center by the Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM).

Providing information on their arrest, Migrant Rescue Watch said: “DCIM transferred to Ajdabiya Immigration Detention Center 360 #migrants of Chadian and Sudanese nationalities for temporary accommodation and repatriation. (233 from Benghazi and 127 from Tripoli).

“On 01.12.23 a group of 228 #migrants (Chadian and Sudanese) were transferred to Kufra Immigration Detention and Deportation Center pending their over land repatriation.”

Migrant Rescue Watch said  also said: “Patrols of General Administration of Central Support arrested 2 undocumented #migrants of Nigerian nationality in possession of forged Libyan IDs. The individuals were transferred to Az Zighan Police Dept. for legal action.

“Libyan Coast Security staff completed training course in Italy in the field of search and rescue. The training was conducted for LCS members of detachments from Eastern, Central and Western regions.”
