MSF Sea disembarks 162 survivors in Rome

One hundred and sixty two distressed migrants rescued by MSF Sea have been disembarked in Civitavecchia, Rome.

The Italian authorities had few days ago assigned Civitavecchia as a place of safety to MSF Sea.

” Rescue completed,” MSF Sea said in the opening of its announcement about the safe disembarkation of the survivors.

“All the 162 survivors rescued by #MSF team on board #GeoBarents have safely disembarked in #Civitavecchia (Rome), the place of safety assigned by the italian authorities.

“We wish them to receive the assistance and protection they need.”

Prior to the rescue and eventual disembarkation, MSF Sea had announced that: “Currently there are 162 people on board the #GeoBarents heading to #Civitavecchia, the place of safety assigned by the italian authorities.”
