Distressed migrants rescued in Chios, Greece
Sixteen distressed migrants have been reportedly rescued in Chios, Greece.
AlarmPhone yesterday raised the alarm about 15 people distressed in the area and subsequently announced the rescue of a group of 16 distressed migrants.
“15 people in distress on #Chios, #Greece!
We received an alert from a group who arrived on the island, there are children and injured people amongst them and they are asking for urgent assistance! @Hcoastguard and #Greek police have been alerted. Rescue now!”
Subsequently, AlarmPhone said: “We called the port authority of #Chios. They informed us that they rescued a group of 16 people at the indicated location. According to the police, they were taken to the camp. We hope the group has now time to rest and recover.”
