Human Smuggling: DCIM reinforces patrols at Wadi Abu Qila
The Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM) has reinforced patrols at Wadi Abu Qila area of Libya to check human smuggling, Migrant Rescue Watch said.
According to Migrant Rescue Watch: “DCIM Desert Patrol Dept. (Western Region Branch) deployed reinforced patrols to Wadi Abu Qila area located between the municipalities of Shwayrif, Al-Qurayyat and Mizdah.”
The patrols, it said are aimed at increasing security presence and cutting off routes used by human smugglers. “The area represents a major corridor for smuggling of undocumented #migrants by criminal gangs and networks.”
Migrant Rescue Watch further said that Joint Security Forces launched a security campaign aimed at controlling validity of residence and health certificates of foreign workers and #migrants in Nesmah. “During the ongoing campaign all persons will be subject to mandatory medical tests,” Migrant Rescue Watch said.
