IOM’s Laurent De Boeck visits NACTAL Nigeria
The Chief of Mission, International Organization for Migration (IOM) Nigeria, Mr. Laurent De Boeck has paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of the Network Against Child Trafficking, Abuse and Labour (NACTAL) Nigeria.
The IOM Chief of Mission was received in audience, October 10, 2023.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss strategies and exchange recommendations for combating the rising issue of child begging, baby factories, irregular Migration as well as human trafficking in Nigeria.
The visit was also geared towards strengthening the relationship between NACTAL and IOM.
On behalf of the NACTAL Board of Trustees (BOT), members of the National Executive Committee, State Coordinators and member organizations of NACTAL Nigeria, the National President, Abdulganiyu Abubakar welcomed and appreciated the IOM Chief of Mission for taking time out to visit NACTAL Nigeria.
He further recounted the historic relationship between both Organizations which has contributed meaningfully to shaping the Nigerian response to Trafficking in Persons and irregular Migration.
While engaging in productive discussions and sharing valuable insights, participants shared collaborative strategies to enhance efforts in preventing and addressing human trafficking.
The NACTAL National Secretary/ Head of Programs Comrade Osita Osemene appreciated the Chief of Mission for his time and commitment. He further emphasized on NACTAL’s readiness and availability to work in collaboration and partnership with IOM to achieve their shared objectives and goal.
